Over the past month, we’ve been recognized for several achievements and awards celebrating how the Express Lanes are driving sustainability, innovation, and community investment across the Greater Washington Area.
We joined the Dulles Area Transportation Association (DATA) at their Annual Awards Dinner, where Transurban North America was celebrated for the 10th anniversary of the Express Lanes – the first of their kind to introduce dynamic tolling in the US.
Proximo, a B2B market intelligence provider in the project, energy and infrastructure finance sector, hosted their annual Financing America’s Infrastructure meeting in Nashville, TN, where Mike Discenza, Acting President - North America, shared his insights on the complex market dynamics impacting PPPs and infrastructure investment.
Transurban was also named as the recipient of the 2022 North America PPP Deal of the Year award in recognition of the creative collaboration financing of the 495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (NEXT) project, which will help unlock one of the most congested segments of Washington’s Capital Beltway.
Finally, we were honored to receive the Virginia Transit Associations Outstanding Contribution by a Business Award. For the past four years, our 395 Express Lanes have contributed $15 million annually to multimodal improvements along the 395 and 95 corridors. This contribution, exceeding $60 million to date, has had a significant positive impact on transit services in the Commonwealth. The funds have been utilized to expand bus routes and fleets, enhance commuter parking facilities, introduce incentive programs, and expand the bikeshare network, among other initiatives.
