From the bushfires to the pandemic, this year has been tough and we know that many in our community have been hit hard and need some help.
In response to the unprecedented challenges of the past six months, we are committing over $5 million to date to support those who need it most.
About half the amount is made up of toll credits that our Linkt Assist team has been providing to front-line workers and those financially impacted as a result of job losses or reduced hours.
The other half will go towards programs and partnerships to support those who support others.
Our programs and partnerships
Here are just some of the partnership and programs we support.
Bushfire relief
With the help of our employees we donated more than $580,000 to organisations assisting those impacted by the bushfires. Read more.
Community grants
Our recent grant applications closed with record numbers In May, and it was clear that there was a significant need for support. As a result of the unprecedented amount of applications, we have almost tripled our grant funding which will allow us to support even more organisations doing it tough. Grants were available for organisations bringing social and environmental benefits to communities near Transurban's roads in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Financial assistance scholarships
With our new partner The Smith Family, almost 400 students across Australia will receive financial assistance for education essentials; out-of-school learning and mentoring programs.
Financial counselling
We’re working with our partner The Salvation Army to help 10 of their employees undertake a Diploma in Financial Counselling. Read more.
Community support
In Brisbane, we have redirected our Legacy Australia funding to its new social isolation prevention program and in Melbourne our annual Run for the Kids was staged as a virtual event and raised more than $670,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital, which included our $100,000 donation.
